Junior Optimist Society (JOI)

Who we are...

The Junior Optimist Society provides southern Jefferson County youth an opportunity to learn organizational, leadership, and community service skills through good works in the community.

JOI stands for Junior Optimist International and is a service-learning organization.  JOI is the organization that connects all of the JOI clubs around the world.

What does the JOI club do?

Debbie Schumaker co chair person with the Junior optimist club went with the Eldridge boys, Ayden the president and Addisen the VP to the Festus police department and fire department in November. They presented them a Thanksgiving cake their mother made for each. What a nice act of kindness. Great job and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you from the Junior optimist club.

Kids Helping Kids

  •  JOI and Twin City Area Optimist clubs shopped for the Crisis Nursery in November. Checked out with 109 items in less than an hour. Thanks to all involved. What a team and lots of fun. Because of this project children will have a better Christmas with essentials and toys.
